36th Mitsui Life Symposium: New Frontiers in Asset Pricing
The symposium intends to focus on state of the art research in asset pricing that
advances the discipline through methodological innovation and expansion to new and
significant areas and questions. Of particular interest are studies advancing new
computational methodologies, including machine learning and big data applications, and
those that explore expanding topics in asset pricing, such as, investor heterogeneity,
learning and ambiguity, the real effects of financial markets, the impact of climate risk,
sustainability, and diversity on financial markets, and novel preference structures for
pricing models. Call for papers are now open and due February 16, 2024.

The 35th Mitsui Life Symposium in Japan: Toward ‘Diversity Innovation’
The format for the 35th symposium was an online panel discussion with a moderator and the topic was innovations that can improve gender diversity in Japan. Accordingly, all three panelists and the moderator were women who held senior executive positions in Japan and as expected, it resulted in an open, stimulating, and informative discussion. Best Discussant Awards
Each paper was assigned to a discussant. Two awards were given out for best discussion ($2500 each). Awards were based on anonymous votes of the participants at the end of the final session.
